Hubcap Contact Build (Transformers Essence20 rpg)

Image
Today's contact build is one of the many "Bumblejumper" bots that existed from the G1 era: Hubcap ! If you enjoy this content, please help support my friend Owen and his fight against cancer . This is unofficial, fan-made content using the Transformers Essence20 rpg by Renegade Games Studios. HUBCAP “ Weapons can win battles, but words can win wars .” Everybody likes Hubcap. He's friendly, always has a clever joke or compliment ready, and is generally a nice, fun, affable bot to be around. On the other hand, nobody actually trusts Hubcap. It's not his devotion to the Autobot cause that's the concern (mostly), but his ulterior motives for his friendship and jokes and the like. He is at his core a con artist, and everyone's a bit on their guard around him. Some think he's this way to cover for deficiencies or to stay in a position well above his actual aptitude level... or maybe he just likes tricking people. He doesn't seem to have made many enemies

Blaster Contact Build (Transformers Essence20 rpg)

The contact build for today is the Autobot head of Communications: Blaster ! First let's address his name and it's unfortunate roots in 1980s slang. During the 1980s, it was not uncommon to see poor minorities carrying around and making use of large radio / cassette recorders with massive speakers. These would usually be seen at the sites of people engaging in popular breakdancing at the time. While most people referred to these devices as "boom boxes," the derogatory term that was spread around for them was "ghetto blaster." This was the device upon which Blaster's name was derived, as he assumed the alt-mode of such a machine. As a character, Blaster had a mixed reception. It was obvious that his toy was created by a company different from Takara, as he was MUCH bigger than any of the other figures in the line at the time. He even towered over Devastator, who was supposed to be "massive;" being the combined form of six other robots! Plus, des

OMEGA SUPREME Contact Build (Transformers Essence20 rpg)

Image
The Contact Build for today is the massive robot guardian: Omega Supreme ! Noteworthy for their massive size, Omega Supreme was one of the largest Transformers to come out for the original series, until later additions like Metroplex and Fortress Maximus were introduced. Omega Supreme was a massive battle station, complete with a space rocket, launch pad and tank that would move across a track surrounding the base that made up their component pieces. All of these formed together into a single giant robot form. In the old G1 cartoons and comics, Omega Supreme served as the protector of the Ark while the Autobots were away on missions. The sheer size of Omega made them problematic to bring on missions, and their firepower would usually only be called upon to deal with major threats like Decepticon Combiners... at least until the Autobots got their own Combiner teams with the Aerialbots and Protectobots. Omega was pretty much sidelined, as these combiner teams could easy go into the field

Worlds Collide After Action Report (MiracleCon 2024)

Recently, I was asked by a former co-worker -- also a popular gamer and GM in the local area -- if I would be interested in being a GM for the World's Collide mega adventure produced by Renegade Games Studios for the Essence20 rpg. This adventure crosses over the GIJoe, Power Rangers, and Transformers sessions, all of which use the same game system, so they work relatively seamless with each other. This article WILL contain SPOILERS for the Worlds Collide Adventure, so if you want to play and be surprised by this game, do not read any further. You can purchase the adventure from the Renegade Games Studios store here . For background set up... Lord Zedd, Doctor Mindbender, and Shockwave were all working on teleportation technology at the same time, creating an interdimensional incident that merge them into one being: Lord MindwaveZ . This also started drawing all of the multiverses together into one amalgamated chaos region. While this happens, Joe, Rangers, and Autobots are drawn i

Torgu! (Dark Mana NPC, Tales of the Valiant 5e)

In 2021, the BAMF Podcast was promoting several original short stories and supplements they were producing, called Blaster Bolts . As part of this promotion, we played several sessions of White Star and streamed them on the channel. During these sessions , I played the mystic goblin space pirate Torgu, who became a fan favorite, because of the voice I used during the game. Recently, Kobold Press released their Tales of the Valiant rpg , which I am planning to use to run my space fantasy rpg campaign called Dark Mana. I just finished building Torgu the space goblin as a sorcerer, adapting the Lightning Adept subclass from the fan-made Star Wars 5e rpg . TORGU  Small humanoid (goblin sorcerer [void lightning adept] 7), neutral evil Armor Class 16 (mage armor) Hit Points 38 (7d6+7) Speed 30 ft.
