Today's movie monster has a theme song you can hear in your mind just from thinking about it. This is the monster that made everyone dread going into the ocean. Today we're showcasing "Jaws" the Great White Shark. This article uses games statistics from "The Monsters Are Our Heroes" rpg by Bloat Games. The story of Jaws is based on a series of shark attacks incidents that took place by a group of bull sharks in 1916. The author of the original novel changed the shark into a Great White to inspire more fear with a massive monster that resembled the classic Megalodon.  Movies and television will have people believe that shark attacks happen all the time. In truth there are an average of 16 shark attacks every year in the united States, and only one fatality every two years. Cenobites are hedonistic, sadomasochistic fiends from another dimension. They claim themselves to be explorers of sensation and experience, and seek to bring others to their way of existence. Their usual means of doing this is by access to a mystical artifact: a puzzle box known as the Lament Configuration . By opening the puzzle box, it opens the dimensional barriers between the mortal world and that of the Leviathan’s Labyrinth, where the cenobites exist and conduct their pleasuring tortures. Cenobotes vary in appearance, but are generally humanoid in form, wrapping their bodies in tight leather bindings that barely conceal their exposed wounds and pierced flesh. Barbs and chains hang from their bodies and move at their command; striking and binding those who have opened the puzzle box and invit

Turtles of Grayskull, Wave 1 review

Image
TOYS! Recently I picked up the first four Turtles of Grayskull figures. I bought these online from Big Bad Toy Store . Mutant He-Man. Solid figure with lots of fun details! He's got a bandanna around his head, like the turtles! He's got some custom feet, as one of the boots has his giant toes poking out the front. Standard articulation found on all the MOTU Origins series figures, so lots of posing options! The joints on this figure I found to be really stiff! The elbow joints almost seem to be like a ratchet joint in the way they clicked and moved. Also, standard removable parts found in all MOTU Origins figures for customization. And when I first saw the figure in the package, I thought his arms seems larger than normal... Yes, they are indeed extra-long and chonky arms! Man-At-Arms Speaking of arms, this may become my default Duncan figure to use in the future of my toy comics! This is a magnificent figure! The armor is heavy and the face sculpt is magnificent! All standard

Werewolf ("The Monsters Are Our Heroes" Villain)

Image
Today's movie monster comes from not one, but many different films. Werewolves -- also called "wolfmen" or lycanthropes -- are shapeshifters who start as humans but, through some happenstance, have been cursed to assume the form of a monstrous wolf-like creature and prey upon the innocent. The Werewolf Hero in "The Monsters Are Our Heroes" rpg by Bloat Games is a lycanthrope that has managed to control its transformations and turned the curse into an asset. A lycanthrope is a werewolf that has succumbed to its curse. Forsaking its humanity, the monster goes out at night and hunts for humans and other creatures to feed upon. There are some people who are cursed lycanthropes. They are unaware of their monstrous curse, transforming on the night of the full moon, and returning to their human form with no recollection of the previous night’s gruesome events. Lycanthrope (aka Werewolf) Evade 12 Hit Points 20 (3 HD) Armor Points 0 (in human form) / 2 (in werewolf form

The Bride of Frankenstein ("The Monsters Are Our Heroes" Villain)

Image
Today's movie monster continues the theme from yesterday with Frankenstein and his creations. Today is: The Bride! This article uses game information from " The Monsters Are Our Heroes " rpg by Bloat Games. The Bride is the second creation of Victor Frankenstein, created to be the companion of the original monster, after realizing it's existence would be lonely if left alone.  The story of the Bride is short, in the original Mary Shelly text, as she is never reanimated, as Victor destroys her body before it is finished. In the 1935 film, she destroyed herself almost immediately after her reanimation, upon seeing the visage of the Monster.  Meanwhile in the 1985 film "The Bride" and the "Penny Dreadful" series, the Bride lived on and had a life of her own. It is from this context that I present this Bride build. She may not be a mighty as the original monster, but she is able to fit in with humanity more easily than the Monster. Bride of Frankenstei

Upon discovering that electrical impulses could be used to motivate a dead organs and muscles, Frankenstein theorized the potential of creating a human body and reanimating it with a powerful electrical charge to restore life. His first creation was... less than spectacular. This monster was so abominable in appearance, it frightened even its creator.
