ORION PAX (Autobot NPC - Essence 20 Transformers rpg)

This build represents Optimus Prime just after his “death” as Orion Pax (at the hands of his best friend Megatron), and subsequent rebuild as Optimus. However, this is before gaining access to the Matrix of Leadership from Sentinel Prime during the days of the Exodus.

“Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.”

PERKS

Battle Scan: When Orion Pax rolls for Initiative, he learns the Threat Levels of every enemy that he's aware of in this combat.

Bureaucrat: When using he Lend Assistance action, Orion Pax can grant the recipient both and Edge and a 1 to their Skill Test.

Experiment: Orion Pax's carrying weight is doubled.

For The Allspark: Orion Pax gains the following benefits:

  • ↑1 to Infiltration Skill Tests when in Alt Mode, or ↑2 if Alt Mode is appropriate to the environment.

  • Immunity to carbon-based diseases, but affected by electromagnetic damage and viruses that affect machines.

  • Roll Out! When Orion Pax rolls for initiative, if not surprised, he can choose to convert to his Alt Mode before combat begins without needing to spend an action.

General Perk: Bot's Bot, Educated

Irrefutable Order: As a Standard Action, Orion Pax can make a Persuasion Skill Test against a target whose level is no higher than his. On a success, Orion Pax can give the target a one word order. As long as the order does not put the target in immediate harm, violate one of the target's core beliefs, and can be accomplished with a Move Action, they use their Move Action to follow the command to the best of their ability on their next turn.

Issue Command: As a Move Action, Orion Pax can issue a command, granting allies who follow the command 1 to a Skill Test or +1 bonus to a Defense based on certain circumstances. Orion Pax sets the circumstances (see Core Rulebook page 64). This bonus lasts until the beginning of Orion Pax's next turn.

Large and In Charge: Orion Pax has a 1 with Persuasion Skill Tests if the target is smaller than him.

Minimize Casualties: When Orion Pax issues a Command in combat that does not involve harming a creature, allies who meet the terms of the command receive double the benefits.

Never Forsaken: Once per scene, when an ally no further away than 45 ft. takes Damage, Orion Pax can spend an Energon Point to move adjacent to that ally, converting if he needs to, and take the Damage instead, even if the attack would not normally penetrate Orion's Defenses.

Prepare For War: When Orion Pax rolls for Initiative and is not surprised, he gains an Edge on the Initiative Skill Test.

The Right of All Sentient Beings: If the safety of a non-combatant is threatened during a Combat, Orion Pax gains an Edge on Skill Tests to protect them until they are out of harm's way. If they are Defeated during Combat, Orion Pax gains an Edge on Skill Tests for the rest of Combat.

Stand Tall: When in discussion with a creature of a different size class, Orion Pax gain on Intimidation or Persuasion Skill Tests equal to the number of Size Class differences between you.

Stoic: As a Move Action, Orion Pax can stand tall for all to see. He takes a penalty to Evasion up to -3 and can't defent with Toughness until the beginning of his next turn. Orion's allies each gain a number of Free Actions equal to the penalty he took to his Evasion on their next turn.

Synch Up: Once per turn, when an ally attacks and misses a target within Orion Pax's range, Orion Pax can immediately attack that target, even though it is not his turn.

Universal Greeting: Orion Pax can use language-based skills like Persuasion and Deception even if he and his target don't share a language.

HANGUPS

Aloof: Orion Pax longs for a return to a simpler time when he can be a data clerk again. Besides his role as leader of the Autobots and making inspirational speaches, Orion has difficulty relating to others in a casual manner, suffering a 1 to Social-based Skill Tests in non-important matters.
