Mirage Contact Build (Transformers Essence20 rpg)
Unlike out previous entry, Jazz, who is a special operative within the Autobot ranks, the 'Bot known as Mirage is a freakin' SPY! He the kind of bot who has friends on BOTH sides of the Great War and wants to see them all get out alive on the other side. Despite his belief that the war is too costly to Transformers lives, and he is not entirely convinced he is on the correct side of the war, there has to be some reason he chose to join Optimus Prime over the Deceptions...
Mirage, with his spy craft skillset, his Cybertronian gentry background, and his personal disdain for the war in general would be a fascinating character to explore in their own miniseries.
This article is unofficial, fan-made material using the Transformers Essence20 rpg by Renegade games Studios.
MIRAGE
“Who and what I am I hide from the enemy.”
Some of the other Autobots don't trust Mirage. He feels the war, even after all these millions of years, is beneath him. War is not, after all, how civilized, erudite beings conduct themselves. He often questions the Autobots' violent means, and not-so-secretly hopes they and the Decepticons can get along. Because of this, he has been labeled by a few others as a Decepticon sympathizer. Under Mirage's "holier than thou" attitude pulses the spark of a loyal friend and a consummate field professional... but, most of the time, it's kind of hard to see past his obvious self-involvement. Still, he sided with Optimus Prime for a reason, and he'll be there for the Autobots when they need him.
Although the details vary by continuity, Mirage has the ability to create illusions which typically either render him invisible or make him appear to be somewhere he isn't.
Influences
Cybertronian Military (Covert Ops), Spoiled: Mirage is what humans call "old money." Before the war, he was a member of affluent Cybertronian society, with his own large estate and high-priced friends. He enjoyed the finer things in life: vintage energon, swank evening events, and turbofox hunts on the grounds. But when the war started, he was forced to choose sides and found himself banded with a group of commoners he didn't really understand. Mirage demands certain high standards from life and has little time for those who can't "rise" to his class.
Origin
Champion: Mirage traditionally assumes the alt-mode of a Formula-1 racing car. More recently, he has taken the form of a Porsche 964 RS.
Role and Focus
Analyst (Manipulator): The holographic powers of the Manipulator are exactly the sort of role and focus Mirage is famous for having.

Speed 7: Driving (Land) +d4, Initiative +d2, Targeting +d6

Gaining name As A Contact
Fellow Autobot: If this Contact is on scene, the PCs can summon them for 1 round.
Skeptical: Mirage remembers the good ‘ol days of Cybertron, before the war. While he has sided with the Autobots, he is not entirely convinced that Optimus Prime has the best interests of other Transformers in mind. If the PCs spend their downtime with Mirage, discussing alternate ways to potentially aid in stopping the war that does not involve more fighting and destruction, succeeding on a DIF 16 Persuasion Skill Test, they gain Mirage as a permanent Contact.
Allegiance Points: 3
Contact Perks
Disappear (1 Allegiance Point): Mirage projects holograms to make his allies vanish. When a PC takes the Hide action, they become Invisible to all natural senses. This invisibility lasts until the end of their turn.
Holographic Projection (3 Allegiance Points): Mirage expands his holographic emitters to alter the appearance of his allies. All PCs automatically succeed on all Deception (Disguise) Skill Tests until the end of the scene.
Spycraft (2 Allegiance Points): Mirage is an expert at making his true intentions unknown to those around him. A PC gains an Edge on their next Infiltration or Deception Skill Test.
