XIVIDAN DUNE STALKER (Scifi Bestiary for Tales of the Valiant / 5e)
Another space opera / scifi themed monster built for Tales of the Valiant / 5th edition rpg. I'll be using this in my Dark Mana setting.
This creature is based on a monster that originally appeared in Pew! Pew!: No Disintegrations by Fainting Goat Games.

XIVIDAN DUNE STALKER
The desert wastelands of Xivida are not as empty as they seem. Hiding amongst the rocky formations is a terrifying ambush predator. Who knows what sort of beast it was before the fallout plague that mutated the world and decimated its flora.
The dune stalker has the body, head, and tail of a desert reptile. Its head is predominantly composed of a massive, fang-filled mouth. Its rust-colored body is covered in lumps and contours that allow the creature to easily blend into its native environment. The beast has six legs, each with numerous bends and articulation more likely to be found on an insect species. Its two forelegs are used as grasping manipulator arms ending in serrated claws like those of a mantis. The dune stalker uses these arms to capture prey and quickly bring grappled food directly into its hungry mouth for feasting.
While normally an ambush predator, the dune stalker is not above chasing its prey, should it escape the pincers. The stalker’s legs allow it to move quickly and efficiently across the desert landscape and even up sheer rocksides without difficulty.
