Rumble Contact Build (Transformers Essence20 rpg)

Today's subject is the Decepticon Demolitionist and last of the first wave of Mini-cassettes: Rumble.

Besides Laserbeak, Rumble is likely to be one of the most famous of the mini-cassette characters, as his pile-driver arms and "take no shit" attitude (seriously, this guy is willing to pick fights against anyone who tries to belittle him, no matter their size or station) made  him incredibly distinctive. He's got a partner with his bro Frenzy. In the comics, they shared Rumble's gimmick power (the pile driver arms) while also getting their color  scheme swapped.

Just to be clear. Rumble is red. Frenzy is blue.

RUMBLE

"Destroy what's below and what's above will follow."

Rumble is your basic street punk: small, but always acting tough as a cover. He's not exactly the most subtle of Soundwave's spies, but what he lacks in discretion, he makes up for by being the brawler of the group. He talks tough because he is tough. Quick-tempered and of a generally mean disposition, he follows Megatron eagerly, as the Decepticon leader lets him indulge in destruction. Rumble has a tendency to toss out a taunting rhyme at his enemies and is, according to Brawn, a "jerk" (or at other times, a "sawed-off nerd").

As the Decepticon demolitions expert, Rumble loves nothing more than to break things apart. His arms can transform into powerful piledrivers that, when pounded against the ground, can cause earthquakes, usually with fissures. He can be easily overpowered in a one-on-one match, though the real challenge is actually getting to him first. Even if you do, you usually need to get through his brother Frenzy either before or after you get Rumble.

Influences

Violent: Rumble enjoys nothing more than getting to fight other bots.

Origin

Mini-Con: Rumble assumes the alt-mode of a data storage mini cassette.

Role and Focus

Renegade (Slammer): Rumble is all about striking hard and fast. The Renegade Role comes from the GIJoe rpg, and the Slammer Focus comes from the Sergeant Slaughter sourcebook.

Gaining Rumble As A Contact

Decepticon Brethren: If this Contact is on scene, the PCs can summon them for 1 round.

Soundwave Superior: Rumble is loyal to Soundwave. If a PC has Soundwave as a permanent Contact, and succeeds on a DIF 10 Persuasion Skill Test, they gain Rumble as a temporary Contact.

Trash Talk: Rumble loves to trade insults almost as much as he loves to trade blows. If a PC spends their downtime helping Rumble trash talk or roast others, succeeding on three DIF 12 Performance Skill Tests, they gain Rumble as a permanent Contact.

Allegiance Points: 3

Contact Perks

First We Crack the Shell, Then the Nuts Inside! (2 Allegiance Points): Rumble uses his pile driver arm to directly punch an enemy. A Threat suffers 2 Blunt Damage and loses any benefits from their armor until the beginning of their next turn.

Pile Drivers (3 Allegiance Points): Rumble engages his pile drivers, causing the ground to shake like an earthquake. All ground-based Threats suffer 1 sonic damage and are knocked Prone until the start of their next turn. A 20-ft. radius area around Rumble becomes rough terrain.

Trash Talkin’ (1 Allegiance Point): Rumble knows how to provoke an enemy to attack. A PC gains an Edge on their next Intimidation Skill Test to Taunt an enemy.
