Kickback Contact Build (Transformers Essence20 rpg)
The contact build today continues building the Insecticon roster. Here is Kickback!
Kickback is special to me, as this was one of the first Transformers owned by my older brother. As such, it was one of the first Transformers to be in my household; not just a toy at the home of a friend whom I'd visit irregularly!
This is unofficial, fan-made content using the Transformers Essence20 rpg by Renegade Games Studios.

KICKBACK
“Friend is another word for fool.”
Kickback is one of the most charming, likable beings you're ever likely to meet. He collects friends the way others do energon cubes. Scratch the surface, though, and you find a manipulative blackmailer that loves digging up dirt on his new "pals" to force them to work for him. Humans are particularly likely to fall prey to his honeyed words. In insect mode his super-charged legs allow him to jump great distances and kick through solid steel, though he's vulnerable in that mode when attempting to fly through high winds.
Influences
Disenfranchised, Scavenger: Insecticons are used to living in the dregs of Cybertronian society.
Origin
Insecticon: Kickback assumes the alt-mode of a grasshopper.
Role and Focus
Analyst (Corruptor): Kickback is all about stealing and manipulating information gained through his many "friends" and contacts.
Essence Scores and Skills
Strength 3: Might +d4 (Kick)
Speed 4: Infiltration +d4, Targeting +d4
Smarts 9: Alertness +d6, Culture +d4, Survival +d6 (Foraging)
Social 7: Deception +d6, Persuasion +d6 (Flattery)
Gaining Kickback As A Contact
Decepticons, Rise Up!: If this Contact is on scene, the PCs can summon them for 1 round.
Dirty Laundry: Kickback loves friends with friends; especially when the gossip is spicy! If a PC spends their downtime discussing the secrets held by others with Kickback, succeeding on three DIF 16 Culture, Infiltration, and Streetwise Skill Tests, they gain Kickback as a permanent contact.
Insecticon Hivemate: Fellow bugs need to stick together or be crushed under the heels of the largest Cons. If a PC is an Insecticon, they gain Kickback as a temporary Contact.
Allegiance Points: 3
Contact Perks
Give ‘Em Some Foot (1 Allegiance Point): Kickback is known for his powerful kicking. A Threat suffers 1 Blunt Damage and is knocked Prone.
Honeyed Words (3 Allegiance Points): Kickback knows what to say to get into the good graces of others. A PC has an Edge with all Social Skill Tests until the end of the scene. If the target of the Skill Test is human, the PC gains an additional ↑1 to the Skill Test.
Power Leaping (2 Allegiant Points): Kickbacks legs are powerfully strong. A PC gains an Edge when making an Athletics Skill test to jump. Their leaping distance is doubled until the end of the scene.
Contact Hang-Ups
High Winds: Kickback is light of frame in his insect alt-mode. If the environment suffers from powerful winds or a wind-based attack is directed at Kickback, he is forced to flee the scene, as he is blown away.
