ULTRA MAGNUS (Essence20 Transformers NPC Build)

 Here is my NPC build for the Autobot City Commander, Brother-In-Arms to Optimus Prime himself: Ultra Magnus!

In my personal TF: MASK '88 campaign, Magnus is the rebuilt Dion; just as Optimus is the rebuilt Orion Pax and Elita-1 is the rebuilt Ariel. He looks like a white-chassis Optimus, but due to wearing the Manga Armor, has a larger build and outer appearance.

PERKS

Beacon of Courage: Ultra Magnus is immune to the Frightened condition. Additionally, all allies within 30 ft. of him gain an Edge on all Skill Tests against becoming Frightened and all Skill Tests against them to impart the Frightened condition suffer a Snag.

Humility: Ultra Magnus takes no pride in his talents. All Skill Tests made against him to goad him into taking a specific course of action suffer a Snag.

Magna Armor: Ultra Magnus’ Auto Transport Trailer converts into a suit of armor, providing him the “Durabyllium Alloy” and “Pack Mule” General Perks.

Mode Conversion (Freightliner COE Dual-Cab with Car Carrier): Cybertronians spend a Standard action to convert between Bot-Mode and Alt-Mode.

Team Player: Ultra Magnus can always Lend Assistance as a Free Action to any one of his allies as long as they are within sight of each other.

Missile Launcher (Targeting): d4, Range 100 ft./200 ft. (min 30 ft.) (1 Sharp Damage Blast, 20 ft. radius)

  • Hands: 2

  • Traits: Anti-Tank, Mounted, Reload, Sharp, Wrecker

Ram (Driving): d4, Reach (2 Blunt Damage)

  • Alternate Effects: Maneuver

  • Requirements: Alt-Mode Only, must move 10 ft. before attacking.

  • Traits: Integrated

Unarmed: (Might): d6, Reach (1 Stun Damage)

  • Alternate Effects: 1 Blunt Damage (↓1), Trip (↓1)

  • Traits: Blunt, Martial Arts, Integrated, Silent


POWERS

Create Order (1/scene, Standard): Ultra Magnus can instill order where he sees chaos. Until the start of his next turn, all allies can treat once d20 roll as 10 when they make a Skill Test on their turn.

Rally (2/scene, Move): Ultra magnus motivates and mobilizes his troops. All allies who can see or hear him gain ↑1 on attacks, and attacks against them suffer ↓1 for one minute.

Armor: Magna-Armor 

Weapons: Laser Rifle, Missile Launcher x2


HANGUPS

I Can’t Deal With That: Ultra Magnus feels most comfortable as a soldier, not a leader. When there is not an Autobot with a Threat Level greater than his in the Scene, he suffers a Snag on all Skill Tests in the first round of Combat.

No Matter The Cost: When Ultra Magnus reduces a foe to 0 Health, all attacks against him are made with an Edge until the start of his next turn.
