Transformers One Sourcebook!

Renegade Games Studios just announced the preorder release of the Transformers One rpg sourcebook.

I finally get to discuss this project, as I have been under an NDA for the last several months. 

Only a week after I originally saw the film, I was contacted by Ben Heisler from Renegade Games Studios asking about my interest in doing some freelance writing for the TF rpg. I could not say "yes" fast enough.

Transformers has always been my bag, since I discovered them. I was the perfect age and the absolute target demographic when they were released  in 1984. I was 7 years old and looking for a toy series to follow, as I was forbidden from following my original interest: Masters of the Universe. I had religiously-strict parents, the Satanic panic of the 80s was in full sing, and MOTU had magical and supernatural themes to it, making the show a "no-no" in terms of my being allowed to watch it or collect the toys. So,  when Transformers came out shortly thereafter, I was hooked!

The cartoon came out quickly after the toys' initial release, and I got to watch the adventures of the Autobots and Decepticons unfold before my eyes. It would still be a year before I would own my first TF toy (the Insecticon Bombshell), but by then I was familiar with every character through the collection sheets that came with every box set.



Eventually, I started collecting the comic series as well, starting with issue 39. And I stuck with that series until it ended with issue 80.

So yeah... I'm a  HUGE Transformers nerd. And the fact that this TF nerd has gotten to work on an OFFICIALLY LICENSED TRANSFORMERS RPG SOURCEBOOK? 

Hells yeah!

I am all sorts of happy and excited right now.

If folks want more specifics about the things I actually wrote, we'll have to wait until the book is out, that way I can see what made it into the book and what may have been cut by the editor.

Thank you to my friends and family believing in my art and my writing. Thank you for allowing me to follow in my passion (because I know a LOT of families don't allow their children to follow their artistic goals).

Sure, I've been doing writing for my own TF homage:  the Valor Knights: Champions of the Electrocube Wars rpg, but getting to work with the real thing and play with the actual toys...? There is nothing else like it.

Fastball Special (Mutants & Masterminds 3rd edition)

In Marvel Comics, there are few combat maneuvers as noteworthy as The Fastball Special . This is a combo-maneuver that requires the use of two teammates skilled in working alongside each other. One of the teammates (the "pitcher") must have superhuman strength, while the second (the "ball") requires some form of exceptional melee attack and not a small amount of damage resistance.  The Fastball Special was originated by the X-Men Colossus and Wolverine, and featured Colossus using his super-strength to pick up Wolverine and throw him deep into the ranks of the villains or high up towards flying enemies.
