Roadbuster Contact (Transformers Essence20 rpg)
For today's Wreckers Contact, we have a Transformers character whom I an only tertiarily familiar with. I knew this was a TF character as I saw them in the toy sheets that came with each boxed toy in the set. But I never knew anyone that actually had one of the "Deluxe Autobot" toys. (As he was packaged, back in the 1980s)
So here is Roadbuster. Were he not such an established member of the Wreckers, he would be the Autobot field commander during combat missions and assaults, based on his listed tech spec function. Essentially, he would be one of Prime's Military Generals. But, as were are going with the character as established in 99% of all TF continuity... Wrecker it is!
ROADBUSTER
“War is a dirty business… and I’m as dirty as they come.”
Roadbuster is a powerful and charismatic fighter. Outside of combat though, his natural ease and surety fail him. He simply doesn't know how to handle life out of combat. He becomes the quietest of the Autobots, grows withdrawn and depressed, and is easily bored. He counters this by spending most of his free time between battles either planning for the next one or "demolishing" any random Decepticons he can find. Some Autobots worry about what will become of the heroic and well-loved Roadbuster they know if the war ever ends. Combat truly is his life and without it, he might just fade away.
Influences
Security, War Veteran: Before the war, Roadbuster was a member of the Kaon security services. He was quite brutally 'trained' as a cadet, including "mode drilling": being forced to transform over and over in quick succession. During all of this, he never learned to read and after the war started, Roadbuster signed up with the Autobots.
Origin
Rainmaker: Even in his vehicle alt-mode, Roadbuster is heavily armed.
Role and Focus
Field Commander (Strategist): Usually armed to the teeth, he's an inspiration to other Autobots in combat and a natural leader on any battlefield.

Gaining Roadbuster As An Ally
Fellow Autobot: If this Contact is on the scene, the player characters can summon them for 1 round.
Trashing Cons and Taking Names: There is nothing more Roadbuster enjoys more than taking down Decepticons. If the PCs are in battle alongside Roadbuster and succeed on five Skill Tests without failure, followed by a DIF 10 Persuasion Skill Test, they gain Roadbuster as a permanent Contact they can summon once per mission.
Allegiance Points: 3
Ally Perks
Inspiring Command (2 Allegiance points): Roadbuster’s presence on the battlefield renews the vigor in his allies. All PCs are healed of 1 Damage or remove one Condition they are suffering.
Love the Smell of Energon in the Morning! (3 Allegiance Points): Roadbuster never holds back, opening every battle with his most powerful weapons to take down the enemy. All Threats on the battlefield take 2 Sharp Damage.
On My Mark… (1 Allegiance Points): Roadbuster knows when to take the fight to the enemy and when to hold his ground. The PCs have Edge on Initiative Skill Tests.
