Inferno Contact Build (Transformers Essence20 rpg)

Today's contact build is for the Autobot search and rescue operative: Inferno!

In both the classic G1 cartoon and comic, Inferno was always seen as a support character. He rarely had any chance to shine on his own merit, usually operating as part of a small group. This is rather tragic, given his tech spec description, which paints him as a first responder with a daring attitude and willingness to disregard any and all orders if it means saving the lives of others.

His best friend is the Autobot Security Chief: Red Alert.

INFERNO

Where there’s smoke, there’s me.”

If there's a blazing fire, Inferno is going to be one of the first bots on the scene, rushing headlong without regard for his own safety to rescue anyone trapped inside. If there's a blazing firefight Inferno will also be one of the first bots on the scene, and probably even faster than the previous scenario.

Few bots are as gung-ho as Inferno, whose heat-resistant body and seeming lack of fear make him a tough customer in any kind of emergency. He certainly prefers the thrill of gunning down Decepticons over tackling a four-alarm fire, but he doesn't let his thirst for battle interfere with his duty as a rescue bot.

Amusingly, he's the rational, cautious one in the odd-couple friendship he has with Red Alert.

Influences

Cybertronian Military (First Responder), Cybertronian With Attitude (Rebellious), Titanspark: Inferno is always the first to rush into danger to rescue others. He does so even when it is against orders, which he never follows well. As a full-sized firetruck, he is larger than most other Support-chassis-bots.

Origin

Support: Inferno assumes the alt-mode of a Mitsubishi Fuso Fire Truck.

Role and Focus

Scientist (Elementalist): Inferno is used to wielding cold and fire weapons to counter enemy fire-based attacks.

Essence Scores and Skills

Strength 9: Athletics +d6, Brawn +d8, Might +d4

Speed 4: Driving +d4, Targeting +d4

Smarts 6: Alertness +d4, Science (Fire Sciences) +d6

Social 6: Deception +d6, Streetwise +d6

Gaining Inferno As A Contact

Fellow Autobot: If this Contact is on scene, the PCs can summon them for 1 round.

First Responder Camaraderie: Inferno is always the first to rush into danger to help others. He respects those with a similar mentality. Anyone with the First Responder Origin gains Inferno as a temporary Contact.

Scars To Prove It: Inferno does what he does best, despite orders to the contrary. When he’s told to hang back, he rushes forward. Anything he can do to save lives is worth the risk of being shouted at later, including suffering personal injury. If a PC takes Health damage from a Threat or environmental hazard while attempting to rescue another being, while in the same scene with Inferno, they gain Inferno as a permanent Contact.

Allegiance Points: 3

Contact Perks

Emergency Response (2 Allegiance Points): Inferno knows how to quickly remove innocents from a dangerous situation and use his extinguisher rifle to eliminate hazards. All non-combatants and all active environmental hazards in the scene are removed from the area.

Energy Dampening Beam (1 Allegiance Point): Inferno’s weapon produces an energy dampening beam that counters offensive energy weapons. The next elemental-based weapon attack made by a Threat suffers a Snag.

Ceramic Plating Armor (3 Allegiance Points): Inferno heavy armor can handle any extreme flame. All PCs have Resistance to Fire Damage until the end of the scene.
