Wreck-Gar Contact Built (Transformers Essence20 rpg)

It's been a while since I last posted... sorry about the wait! But, I still have so many builds to do, and I've not even started on the 'Cons yet! So back to it....

If you enjoy content like this, please help my friend Owen with his cancer-treatment bills.

Today's contact build is for the leader of the Junkions: Wreck-Gar!

Wreck-Gar and the Planet of Junk was introduced in the 1986 Transformers: The Movie. When first appearing, the Junkions are a xenophobic species of sentient robots; protecting their world of scrap from any who seek to steal it "without even a "how do you do'." But when Hot Rod and Kup appear and actually make a proper greeting, the Junkions welcome them and make quick allies with the Autobots.

It's a good lesson, honestly. Make sure you have said hello to the natives BEFORE you start stealing their stuff!

A lot of folks also think that Junk is a former colony world of Cybertron. However, I am convinced that Junk is actually a former colony world of Lithon. If you look at the Junkions and compare their robot forms to those of the Lithon from the start of the TF Movie, they look very similar, and less so than Cybertronians.

As usual, this build is an unofficial, fan-made build using the Transformers Essence20 rpg by Renegade Games Studios.

WRECK-GAR

"Collect and save, collect and save."

Wreck-Gar is a product of his environment. Unfortunately, this environment is the Planet of Junkion, a distant world of trash which is bombarded by old Earth television broadcasts. Not only is Wreck-Gar's mismatched body collected from the detritus around him, but his mind is an equally mismatched hodgepodge of Earthling pop culture. These humans' cheesy slogans and sales pitches from decades past form the patchwork of Wreck-Gar's scatterbrained personality.

It is with this demeanor that Wreck-Gar leads the Junkions, a tribe (or possibly race) of junk-robot Transformers who inhabit his world. Despite the pop culture of his race being derived from strangers light years away, Wreck-Gar can be strongly xenophobic towards intruders. Thankfully, this attitude is easily broken, and once he befriends you, he will be a selfless ally. He oversees his people's daily activities of "sorting" through their planet's collection of scrap, though what basis they use to sort the material has yet to be identified. Something of a romantic, Wreck-Gar has been known to woo several Junkion ladies in different universes, including Nancy and Rum-Maj.

In battle, Wreck-Gar is easy to knock down, but near-impossible to keep down, thanks to the unique physiology of the Junkions. He tends to lose pieces easily when he takes damage, but he can repair that damage with lightning speed, and it's possible that even if he's reduced to a pile of parts it's only a short time before he's back on his feet again swinging his axe. This rapid-healing ability reaches almost instantaneous speed on his home planet of Junk, or anywhere he can get his hands on scrap metal. Wreck-Gar wields, in addition to his energy axe, a decelerator laser that can bring the cerebral activity of its victim to a lumbering halt.

Steadfast and dependable, powerful and unexpectedly wise, Wreck-Gar reveals himself to be much more than the sum of his parts.

Gaining Wreck-Gar As A Contact

Fellow Autobot: Although Wreck-Gar is not an Autobot, he wears their insignia and considers them an ally. If this Contact is on scene, the PCs can summon them for 1 round.

Hello, Stranger!: It doesn't take much to get Wreck-Gar on one's side. Basically don't be a jerk-bot and don't steal his stuff (anything on the Planet of Junk counts as "his stuff"). Be sure to make friends with the dude and he's gonna be fine with you. Anyone who comes to Junk and makes nice with a Universal Greeting and a DC 17 Persuasion Skill Test is going to acquire Wreck-Gar as a contact.

Allegiance Points: 3

Contact Perks

Cerebral Inhibitor Blaster (2 Allegiance Points): Wreck-Gar’s blaster inhibits an energy robot’s cerebral impulse flow. A Threat suffers 1 Smarts Damage and 1 Stun.

Happy motoring. Cock-a-doodle-doo! (2 Allegiance Points): With the aid of a little energon gel, Wreck Gar is able to restore the functions of even the most damaged of Bots. A PC is healed for 1 Health and removes 1 Condition, including the Defeated condition.

Satisfaction Guaranteed… Or Your Money Back! (3 Allegiance Pont): Wreck Gar’s enamel plating allows him to shrug off all but the most devastating attacks. All PCs gain Resistance to Acid and Fire Attacks until the end of the scene.
