Artillery Catapult Vehicle (Transformers Essence20 rpg)

As a preview of things to come, here is by Vehicle Build for the Artillery Catapult.

This vehicle originally appeared in the 1986 Transformers: The Movie during the Battle of Autobot City. Here, Springer lobbed several artillery shells at the gestalt combiner Devastator in an attempt to stop him from tearing through the defenses of Autobot City. Before Springer was able to get more than a few shots off, Devastator tore a chunk of building from its structure and threw it at the artillery catapult.

ARTILLERY CATAPULT

The artillery catapult (ballistic catapult) is a heavy ordnance weapon used in the defense of Autobot strongholds. This tracked vehicle fires high-explosive artillery shells at the enemy while its crew remain safe behind its heavy armor plating.

Size: Extended II Health: 5

Movement: 40ft Ground

Strength 6: Brawn +d8, Might +d4

Speed 2: Initiative +d4

PERKS

Crew: 1 driver, 1 gunner

Hardpoint Weapons: Ballistic Catapult (Artillery Cannon)

Firepoints: 2 – The driver and gunner can all attack with their own weapons. The driver may only use one-handed weapons, but the gunner can use any weapon.

Defenses: Heavy Armor Plating (+3 plating to Toughness)

Traits: All-Terrain Track Treads, Land, Shielded Cabin, Tank, Vehicle

All-Terrain Track Treads: The Artillery Catapult smashes through any obstacle in its way. It ignores Rough Terrain.

Land: The Artillery Catapult is a land vehicle.

Shielded Cabin: The crew compartment provides Cover to the crew.

Tank: Weighed down by plates of steel, this vehicle is easy to hit but hard to damage. Tanks are Resistant to Ballistic and Martial Arts weapons.

Vehicle: As a vehicle, the Artillery Catapult is a sophisticated piece of equipment that requires at least one Driver to operate. Without a driver, it is considered a Threat level 0 object, and all Attacks target its Toughness. Effects that affect a target’s Willpower or Cleverness only affect this vehicle if it has a driver, in which case they target the driver’s Willpower or Cleverness. It is immune to Conditions and effects that exclusively affect the living, like poison, but is susceptible to effects that affect machines, such as Anti-Tank weapons. Damage to a vehicle can be fixed with a Standard Engineering Kit and a Technology Skill Test.

Ballistic Catapult (Targeting): Gunner’s Targeting Skill, Range 300ft/600ft (min 30) (2 Sharp damage)

Alternate Effects: 1 Sharp damage Blast: 20ft radius (↓1)

Traits: Anti-Tank, Ballistic, Mounted, Reload, Wrecker

Ram (Might): +d4 or driver’s Driving, Reach 15ft (3 Blunt damage)

Alternate Effects: Trip

Traits: Blunt, Drive-By
