I am 100% convinced that Circuit Breaker, who was released as a  character in 1985, was the inspiration for the Borg in Star Trek: TNG in 1989; and almost certainly the inspiration for Seven of Nine... just look at that haircut!

Circuit Breaker (aka Josie Beller)

Circuit Breaker is a villain whose pathological hatred of robots knows no bounds. She refuses to make the distinction between Autobot and Decepticon, blaming the Transformer race as a whole for the attack which left her crippled. As such, she is more likely to do harm to the Autobot cause than to be of assistance.

Circuit Breaker was originally the genius Josie Beller. Hired by Blackrock Enterprises only a few years out of high school, she was responsible for designing the most advanced oil-drilling platform in the world. Despite her well-publicized techno- logical achievements, Beller was humble; to her, it was merely part of her job. She continues to be extremely devoted to her employer, G.B. Blackrock.

But after being paralyzed during a Decepticon attack on the platform, she invented a wearable device to enable her to walk again. Her computerized suit not only allows her to move, but grants her the power to shoot electricity, disrupt circuitry, and fly. This costume does not cover much of her body, but having the power to manipulate electricity gives you a good defense against inappropriate catcalls.

POWERS

Cybernetic Exoskeleton: Josie employs a special circuitry mesh of her own invention that covers most of her body. It replicates the functions of her damaged nervous system allowing for normal mobility.

It also provides her with the following benefits:

** +1 deflection to Toughness Defense, +3 computerized to Evasion Defense;

** Immunity to electrical and electromagnetic damage;

** Carrier Wave: Using magnetic repulsor technology, Josie can fly (45ft Aerial Movement). In addition, she gains ↑4 with Brawn Skill Tests and the (Force) Specialty;

** Cybernetic Communication: Circuit Breaker can interact with computers and communications technology up to 60 feet away with a Technology Skill Test;

** Disruption: Circuit Breaker gains the Disruption Attack, as listed above;

** Magnetism: Circuit Breaker can use Maneuvers on metallic creatures or objects that she can see up to 75 feet away by using a competing Brawn (Force) Skill Test. Circuit Breaker ignores all upshifts or downshifts based on the size of the creature or object. She does not gain the Grappled condition when using Magnetism to Grapple.

This Power comes from an Armor Upgrade. As gear, this can be taken from her when Defeated, or even removed by force while Grappling.

GEAR

Armor: Cybernetic exoskeleton (see Powers, above)

Other:  Wheelchair

HANGUPS

Quadriplegic: Without the use of her cybernetic exoskeleton, Circuit Breaker is Prone and Restrained, and only has slight use of her right hand.

Robotic Hatred: Circuit Breaker has a pathological hatred of all sentient robots. She refuses to hear out any differences between the Autobot or Decepticon factions. All attempts by obvious robotic beings to use Social-based Skill Tests suffer a Snag against her.

Till All Are One!
